Angel Alcantara
ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ was well-represented at the thirty-seventh annual Pennsylvania Economic Association Conference held in Washington, PA, from June 1 to 3, 2023.
Current ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ economics major Angel Alcantara won first place in the PEA Best Undergraduate Paper Contest and was presented with a plaque and monetary award for her paper, “The Determinants of Poverty in Pennsylvania Counties.” Angel received a travel grant award through the ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ School of Graduate Studies and Research to attend the conference and present her paper.
ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ alumni Lucas Mafrica (BA—Economics, 2017) and Jennifer Roy (PhD—Business, 2022) delivered research presentations during concurrent sessions. As part of conference activities, ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ faculty members Todd Potts, Yaya Sissoko, and Jim Jozefowicz participated in the PEA board of directors’ meeting along with Stephanie Brewer Jozefowicz, who serves as the organization’s secretary.
