The 75-piece University Band of the ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ Community Music School and ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ Music Department will present a free concert on the Fisher Auditorium outdoor patio in the ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ Oak Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 16.
Led by ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ music professor Jason Worzbyt, the program will feature marches, including the US Field and Artillery March, the Red Cross March, and Military Escort March, as well as others; a patriotic selection honoring our veterans; a piccolo solo with ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ music professor Terri Wacker, performing Yankee Doodle Variations for Piccolo and Band; ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ President Michael Driscoll narrating Sam Hazo's "Their Blossoms Down"; and other favorites such as selections from My Fair Lady and The Sound of Music.
In the event of rain, the concert will be held in DiCicco Hall (Rm. 121) of Cogswell Hall at the same time, 7:00 p.m.
Be sure to bring a lawn chair and your favorite non-alcoholic beverage, and enjoy a traditional summer band concert as the University Band and ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ Community Music School begin a new tradition of outdoor band concerts for the Indiana community and region!
