The ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ Department of Music will be presenting Music Theatre International’s All Together Now!: A Global Event Celebrating Local Theatre on November 12 and 13, 2021. A fantastic selection of songs is featured in this brand new musical revue from shows including Rent, Les Misérables, Into the Woods, Fiddler on the Roof, Little Shop of Horrors, My Fair Lady, Mamma Mia! and many more!
ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ Music Theater will be joining thousands of theatrical organizations around the globe by producing their own local production of Music Theatre International’s All Together Now!: A Global Event Celebrating Local Theatre. Theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI) created this revue for theatres across the globe to use as a local fundraising event performed over the same weekend. ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ Music Theater’s performances are scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on November 12 and 13 in Gorell Recital Hall, Sutton Hall. The Friday performance will also feature members of the ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ Opera Workshop led by Mary Logan-Hastings, and accompanied by Susan Wheatley.
MTI’s President and CEO, Drew Cohen stated, “MTI’s All Together Now! is about bringing people back to the theatre, whether as audience members or cast, crew, and musicians. The revue features songs from the world’s most iconic musicals, so there is definitely something for everyone to enjoy. Our goal with this worldwide event is for organizations to provide hope, inspiration, and excitement to their communities through the transformative power of musical theatre."
The performance will be directed by ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ Music Theater Director Oliver Lo. ProfessorEvan Engelstad and an ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ music student, Sabin Fisher, are music directors. ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ theater students, Brianna McAfee and Bridget Doyle, are the choreographers. It will feature students from both the music and theater departments.
Lo stated, “The past year has been challenging for everyone, particularly performing arts organizations. We are looking forward to welcoming our students, family, and community members back with this truly wonderful revue.”
