Black students, faculty, and staff are invited to join a discussion with an ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ alumni committee that aims to improve the academic success and social experience of Black students at ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ. Kicking off Homecoming weekend, this Fireside Chat with the Black Experience Alumni Committee will be Thursday, September 30, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. in the Elkin Hall Great Room.
BEAC members hope to learn more about the current Black student experience, the needs of ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ’s Black students, and the best ways to communicate with this audience.
Open to all ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ students, faculty, and staff, this event is an opportunity to network with successful Black alumni and to give feedback about ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ to those who will advocate on Black students’ behalf.
The fireside chat will include light refreshments, a gift card giveaway, and an ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ swag bag for participants, while supplies last. No registration is required. Wearing ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ attire to show your pride is strongly encouraged.
This event is hosted by the BEAC and the ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ Ambassadors, in collaboration with the Office of Alumni and Constituent Engagement and the Center for Multicultural Student Leadership and Engagement.
